Preparing Emerging Leaders & Entrepreneurs
DECA is an international student organization that prepares high school and college members for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. At Newark High School, our program prides itself on practical application. Rather than just reading textbooks, our students run a live sports card marketplace and coordinate regional trade shows.

Student Business Operations
Our chapter structured the sports card program into four functional corporate departments, aligning with DECA's core educational clusters.
Marketing & E-Commerce
Students learn web management, graphic design, social media marketing, and customer relationship strategies by running this website and promoting card show events.
Inventory & Supply Chain
Hands-on experience cataloging sports cards, auditing conditions, calculating price valuations using active databases, and maintaining stock integrity.
Hospitality & Event Operations
Students manage the logistics of coordinating 60+ vendor tables, organizing guest attendance flow, layout design, and operating food concessions at card shows.
Finance & Accounting
Managing show budgets, accounting for table rental proceeds, processing inventory sales, and analyzing financial reports to subsidize leadership conference travel.
Chapter Goals (2026-2027)
Our card sales and table reservation revenues go directly toward achieving these goals set by our student officers.
ICDC Qualifiers
Prepare and qualify students for the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Anaheim.
Travel Subsidies
Raise funding through sports card sales & vendor table rents to reduce registration costs for all qualifying members.
Community Shows
Organize three high-quality memorabilia exhibitions at Newark High Gymnasium to support local commerce.
